Post-traumatic stress disorder and congenital anomalies in prenatal care

Abstract Objective: to assess post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms in pregnant women diagnosed with congenital anomaly. Methods: his is a quantitative and cross-correlational study. The sample consisted of 111 anomaly between 2013 2014. We used semi-structured questionnaire the Impact Events Scale - Revised (IES-R). For statistical analysis, chi-square test, Student’s t test or Mann-Whitney Cronbach Alpha coefficients, Pearson’s correlation simple linear regression models. Results: viable anomalies corresponded 66.6%, non-viable, 33.3%. average all areas IES-R, as well sum matters concerning were high Using cut 5.6 units IES-Rtotal score, we found that 46.8% showed PTSD symptoms; however, more frequent among non-viable (64.9%).
